Cowboy Birthday

Hollis is TWO! Two! I can hardly believe it! He has changed so much this year and really feels like a big kid to me. There isn't a trace of baby in him...except when he whines-- which isn't too often ;)

We had a super fun cowboy birthday for him at Benbrook Stables. All his little friends came and everybody got to ride the horse. I only rented one horse, because I just assumed there would be a lot more kids afraid of the horse and not want to ride. Boy, was I wrong! Everybody did great--smiles all the way around. In fact, I think Hollis was the only one to cry while riding the horse. Not because he was scared, but because they made him take off his cowboy hat and wear the safety helmet. That did not compute in his little mind. Real cowboys wear cowboy hats while riding their horses!

The weather was absolutely perfect. Not a cloud in the sky and about 75 degrees. After all the rain that we have had, it was a nice change to say the least. After the horse rides, the kids got to take a swing at the pinata. That was one tough little pinata! They finally had to rip it apart with their hands, but not after Hollis took a ride on it first (it was a horse pinata of course). We then opened presents and ate cake. It was a perfect day in my book. I have had more fun on his two birthdays than I have had the last ten years of my own birthdays! I LOVE watching the joy and excitement on his face. Our intent for this party was to allow him to feel special on his special day. Goal accomplished! We have such amazing friends and family-- thank you everyone for participating. It excites me to think that YOU are the ones that are going to help shape my child. We are all very blessed!!!

Happy Birthday to our little man, who is ever changing and such a constant delight. You are so special to us! Mommy and Daddy love you to the moon and back!!!

Sorry we had to miss the big event - still not able to be in groups of people especially not little ones. Hollis IS a big boy - what a special guy - he is definitely an individual and growing up so fast! Bless y'all - you and God do great work with that boy.

April we had sooo much fun.. I have been meaning to post some pics on my blog... it was one of the cutest parties we've been too. The boys had so much fun touching the horses and looking for fossils... the guy who took them for a ride said Christopher had the biggest smile for the whole time he had ever seen from a kid... thanks so much for such great memories! My only regret is I forgot to get a pic with my 3 boys with Hollis~ oh well~ it was perfect anyway... love you~ by the way I already have a stack of little pink things... I just can't help it!
